A new feature to talk about. When you block people from your room now, the member will appear at the bottom of your chatters list in red. These members cannot communicate in your show, but you will now be able to block and unblock your problem listeners. This will minimize the amount of moderator abuse by your friends. Also, guests are now unable to chat in the rooms. Many people were complaining about this feature. They will still show up in the room, but unable to type into the chat. Hopefully this is helpful to you.
Now onto the widget. If you would like to be on the widget, it is important that you SCHEDULE your shows from now on. You need to get into the habit of this. IF you want us to put your show on the widget you are required to be on video, and be scheduled from now on. IF you do not schedule your show, then please do not come to us upset because you missed out. It's also helpful to us if you go into your profile, broadcast, edit show details, and add a little (v) beside your show name. This will be an indication to us that you'd like to be on the widget, and will have video during your show. Just make sure you schedule your show from now on. All shows not scheduled will miss out. Sorry. Another thing I'd like to mention for shows on the widget. If we ask you to clean up the language during your show, it is because you are NOT broadcasting exclusively to nowlive. The widget is streamed on many different websites, including myspace, and some of our sponsors. There is no age restriction on the widget, and the widget is used to entertain and bring new listeners to the site. We are trusting that you would like to get your name out to a larger audience with this widget, and by being inappropriate whether it be language or content, you are not only reflecting a negative image of yourself, but you are representing that same image for nowlive. Please do not stop your show while you're on the widget to talk about how it's unfair that we tell you to censor your profanity or content of your show. If we ask you to calm the content down a bit, then please do it and move on with the show. Being professional under tough circumstances will keep your show on the widget in the future.
Have fun, and entertain. Please support new shows and our live events, these are what keep the site going!
Thanks.

Question.
What is the story on live listener counts?
My understanding was ALL listeners were counted, but now apparently it is just registered NowLive listeners.
Why did that change?

Thank you for the update, BigDog. Three thoughts:
1) First, for all NowLive show hosts--let's promote and support each other, as BigDog suggests in his blog posting. Take time on your program, as I do on Tomorrow Will Be Televised Monday afternoons, to let people know about other NowLive shows, giving both day and East Coast/West Coast time periods. I've done that for The Stupid Cancer Show, Road to the White House, Adrienne Curry's program, The Buzz and the live red carpet premieres, among other programming. The more we all promote what we're doing on this site to our listeners/viewers around the world, the more we all win with more people listening/watching all of us. Let's adopt that as a practice. If you want an idea or two how to do it, e-mail me.
2) Like Derrick, I also want a clarification on live listener counts, as well as how many people listen to our shows on podcast. Some answers on this may help me get some guests on Tomorrow Will Be Televised who currently decline to do the program because they are unsure of the audience reach. Please address this ASAP.
3)Those of you doing audio-only shows: let's encourage NowLive to develop a widget just for audio/radio programming, so we can be streamed over other Web sites and dramatically enlarge our audiences. If you make that thought known to BigDog and his colleagues, that might impact matters to our benefit.
Finally, BigDog, Melissa is doing a wonderful job as community relations person. The ticker blurbs for my program are no longer generic and are running ASAP. However, how about NowLive doing what most Web sites do, namely hire a public relations person to write/circulate press releases about my show and other NowLive programs, and arrange interviews with press around the country? Again, most Web sites have PR at the ready. Let's make that a priority.
Thanks again, BigDog for the blog postings and everyone's commitment to run the best social broadcasting site around.

I agree that an audio ticker/widget should be available. I have no plans of going video anytime soon. I'd hate to break the thing ya know. ;)
The live listeners...well I gave up on that sorta thing 2 sites ago. I finally went with Podomatic and use their downloads status as my measuring tool. But I think guests and all should be included.
I am happy with what we have now and cannot wait until new things are presented for us!

Hey All,
Thought I would chime in and address some of your comments and suggestions.
- Audio Only Widget
This already exists. Our first two widgets were audio only, and can be found in your profile by going to: Broadcast --> Widget gallery.
Members are more than welcome to use and distribute this widget as they see fit, however, we only distribute the video one, as it is what our partners/sponsors want.
- Live Listeners
This circles back to the widget. We are in the process of rolling out our next-gen Video widget. Its much sleeker, has better embed options, and will eventually allow for further customization than the current one does. The live listener count may be a little quirky until we complete the transition.
All other comments and suggestions have been noted. I just do not have an immediate response at this time. :) Derek, Simon, Steve (and whom ever else may want to chime in), thank you for your feedback and suggestions.
Happy Broadcasting!

Fair enough.
The reason I ask is because some shows, including mine, had many Chat roon listeners, but after the show, the live listener count was low.

Thanks Justin for the reply and your feedback acknowledgment. One other thing: I'm willing to have conversations with any of your sponsors about the benefits of having radio/audio NowLive programming streamed live to other Web sites, or getting involved as radio/audio show sponsors. If they get the point that millions of people listen to radio daily--commercial, public, satellite and Internet radio shows--they might be more inclined to accept involvement with NowLive radio/audio shows than current thinking suggests. Again, I'm up for having those sponsor conversations.

My Audio Widget isn't displaying any of my past shows for others to listen to. I've checked from different computers but nothing works. Anyone else having this issue?
